Recovering from Common Access Issues
Having trouble signing in or accessing company files? Don’t panic — here’s how to get back on track quickly.
Forgot Your Microsoft 365 Password?
If you’ve forgotten your password or can't log in:
Enter your work email address.
Follow the prompts to verify your identity and reset your password.
Tip: This process only works if your account is enrolled in self-service password reset. If it doesn't work, reach out to IT via support.parkerbass.com.
How to Change Your Password (If You Know It)
You can update your password anytime:
Sign in if prompted.
Click Security info or Password on the left.
Follow the steps to change your password.
Use a strong password you haven’t used elsewhere. Avoid using your name, birthday, or simple patterns like “1234.”
“I Don’t Have Access to This File or Site”
If you click a SharePoint or OneDrive link and get a “You don’t have access” message, it could be:
You’re not signed into the correct Microsoft account
The file wasn’t shared with you
Your role doesn’t include access to that department’s SharePoint site
✅ What to Check:
Make sure you're signed into the correct work account
Ask the person who sent the link to double-check permissions
Submit a request to IT if you believe you should have access
