First Login: Company Computer vs Personal Computer

This guide explains what to expect the first time you sign in to your Microsoft 365 account — whether you’re on a company-managed device or your personal laptop.


First Login from a Company Computer

  1. Log in using the username and temporary password provided

  2. You’ll be prompted to change your password immediately

  3. Open Chrome or Edge — you should be automatically redirected to complete:

    • Microsoft 365 sign-in

    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enrollment

  4. After setup, you’ll be automatically signed into:

    • Outlook (for email/calendar)

    • Teams

    • OneDrive (in File Explorer)


First Login from a Personal Computer (BYOD)

  1. Go to https://www.office.com

  2. Click Sign In

  3. Use your work email and temporary password

  4. You’ll be prompted to:

  5. Once signed in, you can:

    • Use web versions of Outlook, Teams, and other apps

    • Optionally install OneDrive and Office desktop apps (see BYOD policy)
