Compress a PDF File

Compress a PDF File

Got a PDF that’s too large to email or upload? PDFgear makes it easy to reduce file size without sacrificing too much quality.

📉 Why Compress a PDF?

  • Emailing large files

  • Uploading to websites with file size limits

  • Freeing up storage space

🧰 How to Compress a PDF

  1. Open PDFgear from your desktop or Start menu.

  2. Select Compress PDF from the home screen.

  3. Click Add File and select the PDF you want to compress.

  4. Choose a compression level:

    • Low – best quality, smaller size reduction

    • Medium – balance of size and quality

    • High – smallest file, lower quality

  5. Click Compress.

  6. Choose where to save the smaller PDF and click Save.

Your file will be compressed and ready to share.

⚠️ Heavily compressing a file may reduce image quality or remove embedded fonts — be sure to preview the result if quality matters.
